The Alex’s Place family was hit with devastating news that head chef Russell Bugbee was killed in a car crash late Thursday night of the 21st of October.  It is unfathomable how one could be with you one minute and gone the next.  To anyone who has lost a loved one, you’ve no doubt experienced this delicacy of life as well.  Here at Alex’s Place we are family and have come together to morn the loss of a great talent and friend.
Russ has been apart of our staff from the beginnings of Buffalo Brother restaurant in Raleigh NC and moved north to head up the team here at Alex’s Place to help an old friend out.  His talents were amazing and from the first wine dinner featuring 6 courses of gourmet entrees we knew he’d found his calling here at Alex’s.  He will be missed.
We have set Monday November 1st as our memorial day for Russell and will be closed until 3pm for a service to be held here at the restaurant.  If you knew Russ and would like to come and pay your respects, we’d love to have you attend.  Service will begin at 10am.  Thanks so much to all of our guests for your understanding and words of encouragement that we have received over the past few days.
